Well i totally agree with the Prof, that the idea is like a display of technicals and not so much on.. its purpose!
Something simple, if appropriately used, can function juzt as well.
Personally I feel now, that I do still maintain my stand, that religion is no longer what it was based on or meant to be.
Teachings.
Why do people get all hyped up when a religious imagery is being used in alternative purposes, other than worship. Are not the teachings the most important to one’s faith? Has imageries become the new core vehicle of a religion?
I need to rethink of the ways … a work possessing a strong user espressing the need to self-discover that imageries are nothing but fragments of human production…
“Spaces within the Imagery” is a interactive art display that will allow it’s users to change the representation of the art pieces according each individual’s interpretation, views or even preference of the works.
Concept:
The concept revolves around the static representation of an artwork and the indefinite ways of interpretation of the artwork by each individual. While this interactive piece uses existing medias as it’s base, it makes use of digital media to shift the static presentation of art worksto a dynamic art form.
The gesture of moving their finger on the screen (a digital representation of a canvas) and changing the art display, mimics the act of “digital painting”. This interaction allows the user to take on the role of the artist, his finger tip acting as a brush, and redefine how the space between the elements of a work should be represented. This representation will allow the user to “transform” existing artworks into a new form of presentation that reflects his/her interpretation of how the work(s) should look.
“Easel is built to look like a painter’s easel. It is equipped with a brush and three “paint cans”. By dipping the brush into one of the paint cans and then painting on the canvas the visitors can create unique collages made of video of themselves”
One of the inspiration/reference that I hope to incorporate into my installation. I personally like how it allows each user to interact with the work, and creating his experience with my intended work with his own actions.

A collage image which stirred my emotions about wanting to express too, my point of view on how religion has turned out, progressively degrading from its roots. This is a piece by one of Indonesia’s respected artist, with his commentary on how religion of yester-era have progressed into one that is nothing more than a “trash” in modern times. However, I do not that think religion has degraded to that level, but instead we have over-relied on religion as a culture, art form etc, and has lost its roots, instructions that has its purpose using the religion as a form of vehicle.
